If you are looking for the Iowa International Center's (formerly the Iowa Council for International Understanding, or ICIU) primary website, with updates on the latest news, programs and events, please go to www.iowainternationalcenter.org This multi-lingual resource center website is meant to be a starting point for all new Iowans with limited English skills. There have been many experts and volunteers who have spent hundreds of hours researching what you will need to know about finances, medical assistance, bus routes and food and clothing assistance, as well as other basic needs. We are using Google Translating software to translate this information from English into your native language. This program is not perfect, so there may be some words that do not read the same in the two languages, but it will provide the basic information you will need. You have chosen which language you want to use already. Now you should choose which subject you are interested in learning more about from the list on the left. If you are an immigrant or refugee new to Iowa, or a service provider for those with limited English skills, you are in a unique position to help the Iowa International Center improve the information in this website. If there is a service, program, store or provider that is not listed on this website, please let us know by emailing info@iowainternationalcenter.org so we can quickly update our information. This website will be improving, growing and evolving every week, and your input will be invaluable to helping many new Iowans.
